ADH4 is a fun running, walking & socialising club, who meet at a pub on a Friday evening, usually, but not always, at 7pm.
The hares are in charge of specifying: the place, the actual time & the laying of the trails. There is usually both a running & a walking trail provided, with short cuts, shiggy (mud, wet or boggy patches) & many other natural obstacles. The hares should give instructions as to the likely length of the trails & the terrain or obstacles that may be met on the way - but they have been known to lie, and it maybe rubbish!! In general though, an hour is considered a reasonable length of time.
It does get dark in winter, so bring a good, well charged, torch.Â
This is not a competitive race, just a fun run, & a huge bit of a lark. Prizes are awarded to the outstanding miscreants of the evening.
So come and enjoy!

Hash House Harriers are known as running clubs with a drinking problem, or drinking clubs with a running problem! (It's in our genes - see the Medical page!) It is effectively a hare & hounds paper chase, with much story telling afterwards in the pub. There are thousands of such clubs, & there are many Inter hashes & Nash hashes organised around the world.
All comers are made welcome. The idea is to run, walk or socialise whilst following a trail of dust set by the hares.
The trail can be around town or in the countryside. Dust can be: blobs of flour, sawdust or marks of chalk. Find 3 blobs and you're on trail. When you have found the route, yell "On on", so others can follow.
Trails: Hares are particularly needed for:
Interested in setting a trail:
Just ask a friend, or a neighbour on the run.
Anyone can do it, and anyone will be willing to help, or suggest someone who can.
Just remember, the trail will always be rubbish - however well planned & executed!
Interested in joining us:
Please read the Medical page.
You will need to bring a good torch if it is likely to get dark - Mid-September through to March.
Do bring extra clothing to keep warm, as it is likely that we will be sitting outside for the apres.
On your first hash, please register with a member of the mis-management, before you disappear off on a trail. You will be formally welcomed to the club at the start.
ADH4 promotes and expects a non-judgmental and supportive attitude from all participants.
Anyone who maliciously abuses others forfeits the right to be made welcome.
